Multi-scale Modelling to Improve Climate Data for Building Energy Models

چکیده
The recent AR5 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has again stressed on the need for mitigation and adaptation measures to tackle issues related to climate change. Tackling future urban planning and energy efficiency in the building sector is crucial as they account for almost 40% of energy use in developed countries. A one-dimensional canopy interface module (CIM) was recently developed to improve the surface representation in meteorological models and to enhance boundary conditions for building energy models. In the present study, we explain the methodology to couple CIM to the CitySim software. We show that CIM can be used to provide highresolution vertical profiles to improve the calculation of the energy balance.

Energy Consumption Modeling in Residential Buildings
In recent years, the issue of energy consumption modeling techniques in the building sector has been widely considered by researchers and managers. Researches indicate that energy consumption in residential sector is one of the main parts of the total consumption. Moreover, the urban residence is supposed as a significant consumer of energy in every country and therefore a focus for energy cons...
متن کاملAnalysis and Optimization using Renewable Energies to Get Net-Zero Energy Building for Warm Climate
Due to low energy price, economic optimization of consumption has no justification for users in Iran. Nowadays, the issue of ending fossil fuels, production of greenhouse gases and the main role of building in consumption of considerable amount of energy has drawn the focus of global researches to a new concept called net zero energy building. In this study, modeling, simulation and energy anal...
متن کاملComparison of impact of climate change on building energy-saving design for two different climates; Metropolitans of Moscow and Tehran
In the present study, in order to monitor and project climate change impacts on model of the bioclimatic design, a comparative study was conducted between the Middle East and Eurasia as two different climates. This paper used the basic data from 1990 to 2010, and the CMIP5 climate models have been used to project the climate data (radiation, temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity) from ...
متن کاملForty Years of Numerical Climate Modelling
Climate modelling is now a mature discipline approaching its fortieth birthday. The need for valid climate forecasts has been underlined by the recognition that human activities are now modifying the climate. The complex nature of the climate system has resulted in the development of a surprisingly large array of modelling tools. Some are relatively simple, such as the earth systems and energy ...
متن کاملDevelopment and evaluation of a building energy model integrated in the TEB scheme
The use of air-conditioning systems is expected to increase as a consequence of global-scale and urban-scale climate warming. In order to represent future scenarios of urban climate and building energy consumption, the Town Energy Balance (TEB) scheme must be improved. This paper presents a new building energy model (BEM) that has been integrated in the TEB scheme. BEM-TEB makes it possible to ...
